Looking for Arista 400 sample photos? These ArtByPino frames were shot on Arista 400 black-and-white film with a RETO Ultra Wide & Slim and a Pentax K1000 — an affordable ISO 400 black and white negative film often sold for the educational market, yet capable of results that surprise photographers who dismiss it as a “cheapie.”
Some of these images were shot on the older Arista 400, made by Foma (Fomapan 400), and some on Arista 400 DX, which is Kentmere 400 (Harman, UK) in a DX-coded cassette. Both deliver classic grain, solid contrast, and a characterful look for street and documentary work.

The Tortilleria Factory, also known as El Pocito, is a historic family-run tortilla shop and restaurant tucked into an alley between Beaumont and Chicago avenues in downtown McAllen, Texas. Founded in the mid-1930s by Aurelio Balli Tijerina and Herminia Gonzalez Balli, it still makes corn tortillas the traditional way — fresh masa shaped in a cast-iron press and cooked by hand on a comal — and is known for its gorditas and tamales.

If you want classic ISO 400 black and white character without premium pricing, Arista 400 is an underrated stock worth testing — these ArtByPino frames show the look on a RETO Ultra Wide & Slim (wide plastic lens) and a Pentax K1000: palms, courtyard architecture, a couple portrait, and botanical detail.
