Quinta Mazatlan is an architectural jewel of McAllen. The mansion itself is believed to be one of the largest adobe brick mansions in the State of Texas at 10,000 sq feet. Quinta Mazatlan also has a beautiful world birding center and over the past two years has acquired more land for expansion.

A trip to McAllen would be incomplete without seeing Quinta Mazatlan. It is minutes across from the airport and a perfectly romantic spot to take your date. Pack some sandwiches and a beverage or two for the perfect date as the two of you walk down the shaded trails with ample seating areas to take in the nature.

The City of McAllen acquired the mansion and restored it to its former glory. Today, with the help of a team of highly dedicated volunteers and equally dedicated staff, Quinta Mazatlan flourishes. Don’t take my word for it – check it out yourself.

Writer Eileen Mattei and I collaborated on putting together the only book on Quinta Mazatlan that takes you through its architecture and history.
